Djinni Introduction
In the swirling sands of the endless desert, where the sun blazes with an unrelenting fury and the night sky is a tapestry of shimmering stars, there exists a realm of mystery and magic. It is here, amidst the shifting dunes and ancient ruins, that the enigmatic Djinni make their home. These majestic beings, born of the Elemental Plane of Air, are as unpredictable as the winds themselves, embodying both the beauty and the ferocity of the storm.
The Djinni are a sight to behold, their forms both ethereal and imposing. Towering over most mortals, they possess a grace that belies their immense power. Their skin shimmers with a cerulean hue, reminiscent of the clear desert sky, while their eyes glow with an inner light, like twin stars burning with an ancient wisdom. Flowing robes of silk and gold adorn their bodies, billowing around them as if caught in an eternal breeze, and their hair, a cascade of silver or midnight blue, dances with a life of its own.
These creatures are known for their mercurial nature, as capricious as the winds they command. While they are capable of great kindness and generosity, granting wishes and bestowing treasures upon those they favor, they are equally capable of wrath and vengeance, unleashing tempests upon those who dare to cross them. The Djinni are proud and noble, valuing freedom above all else, and they are quick to take offense at any slight to their dignity.
Their lairs are as wondrous as the Djinni themselves, often hidden within the heart of a sandstorm or atop a floating island of rock and cloud. These sanctuaries are filled with opulent treasures and artifacts from across the planes, a testament to the Djinni's love of beauty and craftsmanship. Legends speak of entire palaces made of crystal and gold, suspended in the sky and accessible only to those who can navigate the treacherous winds.
Stories of the Djinni have been passed down through generations, tales of their encounters with mortals both heroic and tragic. Some speak of wise sages who earned the Djinni's favor and were granted knowledge beyond measure, while others tell of foolish kings who sought to bind the Djinni's power, only to be undone by their hubris. To meet a Djinni is to stand at the crossroads of fate, where fortune and peril dance hand in hand.

On a failure, a target takes 15 (3d8 + 2) bludgeoning damage and is flung up to 20 feet away from the djinni in a random direction and knocked prone. If a thrown target strikes an object, such as a wall or floor, the target takes 3 (1d6) bludgeoning damage for every 10 feet it was thrown. If the target is thrown at another creature, that creature must succeed on a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or take the same damage and be knocked prone. If the saving throw is successful, the target takes half the bludgeoning damage and isn't flung away or knocked prone.

Battle Tips for Djinni
Djinn are powerful and intelligent air elementals that can be formidable opponents in any encounter. As a Dungeon Master, utilizing their abilities creatively can lead to memorable and challenging battles for your players. Here are some tips on how to effectively use Djinni in combat:
Using Djinni in Battle
- Leverage Their Mobility: Djinn have a flying speed of 90 feet, allowing them to easily maneuver around the battlefield. Use this to your advantage by having them stay out of reach of melee attackers and strike from a distance.
- Control the Environment: Djinn can create whirlwinds and control the air around them. Use these abilities to disrupt player formations, scatter groups, or even separate characters from their allies.
- Elemental Attacks: Djinn can cast spells like Wind Wall and Gaseous Form. Use these spells to protect themselves or allies, or to create obstacles for the players.
Coordinating Multiple Djinni
- Team Tactics: When using multiple Djinni, have them coordinate their attacks. One can create a whirlwind to disorient the players while another uses its innate spellcasting to attack from a distance.
- Divide and Conquer: Use their speed and flight to divide the party. Djinn can quickly isolate weaker characters, making it easier to overwhelm them.
- Elemental Synergy: If paired with other elemental creatures, Djinn can enhance their allies' abilities. For example, combining their air-based attacks with a fire elemental can create devastating firestorms.
Strategic Retreats
- Hit and Run Tactics: Djinn can use their speed to engage in hit-and-run tactics, striking quickly and then retreating to a safe distance before the players can retaliate.
- Use of Illusions: Djinn can use their ability to cast Invisibility to escape from a losing battle or to reposition themselves for a surprise attack.
- Regroup and Recover: If the battle turns against them, Djinn can use their flight to retreat and regroup with other allies, returning to the fight when the odds are more in their favor.
By using these strategies, you can make encounters with Djinni both challenging and exciting, providing a dynamic and engaging experience for your players.
